Listeria Raw Milk Cheddar Cheese Recall

Listeria: Raw Milk Cheddar Cheese Recall

Le Fromage au Village raw-milk cheddar cheese is being recalled because it may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.

The product ‘Le Cru du Clocher raw milk cheddar cheese’ was sold in 160g and other variable formats. It was distributed in Quebec and Ontario, online, and possibly other provinces.
The cheeses affected by the recall were purchased before the “DATE DE FAB. 10 AL 2022”.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) states that the bacteria that doesn’t spoil food can cause listeriosis, a disease that can cause vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and stiff necks. In the most severe cases, listeriosis can lead to death.

People in possession of these cheeses are asked to throw them away or bring them back to the store.
