Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood’s daughters, Harper and Finley, are “staggering” from their deaths.
The guitarist, who was married to the late singer from 2006 to 2021, told People in a statement Wednesday that the 14-year-old twins were not “prepared.”[d] for” the “unexpected” and “incomprehensible” tragedy.
“The most important thing for me right now is taking care of my daughters and making sure they always feel safe and loved,” Lockwood, 61, wrote. “Both have incredible spirits and they will carry on our family’s legacy for the rest of their lives.
“Since their birth, Harper and Finley have brought me deep joy and remain loyal to them,” he continued. “We ask for privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”

Lockwood had previously responded to his ex-wife’s death on January 12 through attorney Joe Yanny.
The attorney told the Post at the time that Lockwood and his girls “hat the world[d] turned on the ear.”

Yanny’s statement continued: “Michael had hoped for a speedy and full recovery because her children needed it. It’s very sad that it didn’t happen that way.”
Presley’s other ex-husbands have expressed their grief since the songwriter went into cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas and eventually died at a nearby hospital.

Lisa Marie was also married to Danny Keough from 1988 to 1994, and the former couple were reportedly living together when she died.

The musician is believed to be the male voice on Lisa Marie’s housekeeper’s 911 call, which directs rescue workers to the crime scene.
The ex-boyfriends are the parents of daughter Riley, 33, and son Benjamin, who committed suicide in 2020 aged 27.
Lisa Marie is buried next to her deceased child at Graceland. A public memorial service is scheduled for January 22 at the Tennessee estate.
