Lisa Curry’s admission about her late daughter’s 18-year struggle with anorexia and alcoholism

Lisa Curry has made a heartbreaking confession about how she coped with her late daughter Jaimi’s long-term illness before her tragic death at the age of 33.

Jaimi passed away in September 2020 at the age of 33 after an 18-year battle with alcohol addiction and anorexia

Speaking to The Australian Women’s Weekly on Thursday, the former Olympic swimmer, 59, admitted caring for Jaimi has been “tiring” over the years.

“Sometimes you just have to find the strength, find the patience to get through the day,” said Lisa, who welcomed Jaimi with her Ironman ex-husband, Grant Kenny.

“It’s sad, it’s exhausting, it’s exhausting. But you still have to live your life. You have to get up, get dressed and show up. It’s hard, but Grant and I didn’t have a choice. We just had to do it,” she added.

The gold medalist went on to stress the importance of maintaining “self-care” during difficult times.

“You can’t live your life for a child. They have three kids and they are the whole world to you and so I really need to be self-care conscious so I can be there for them and the grandkids,” she said.

Lisa and Grant married in 1984, separated in 2009 and have three children together: son Jett, 28, and daughters Morgan, 31, and Jaimi.
