Speaking of her upcoming lead role, she said: “When I got the script, it was really comforting for me to see a movie that was a romcom because it’s always fun to work on something light-hearted and family-oriented that makes people happy and provide a bit of escape.

“And I was excited … to do something with Netflix that’s kind of a big family. It was just right for me, especially to be able to do it.’

Lindsay, who rose to stardom thanks to her roles as twins Annie and Hallie on The Parent Trap, continued to talk about her “evolving career.”

She said: “It’s very natural for me to play a role, especially in a romantic comedy, so it doesn’t always feel like work. But when you really look at the character and how much more you can give to the people on screen through the character’s eyes, there’s so much to play with and change.

“With this movie [Falling for Christmas], I really wanted to do more physical comedy… And I was like, ‘We’re here, why not? I’m ready to do it.’ I think the bigger you get in situations like this, the better it is. You can’t be afraid of it.’

In the film, Lindsay plays an heiress who loses her memory after a skiing accident and finds herself in the care of a handsome cabin owner and his daughter.

In addition to starring in the romantic comedy, the MTV Movie Award winner also serves as an executive producer on the project.

“Not because I need a man, but because he found me and knew I wanted to find happiness and grace at the same time.

“I’m stunned that this is my husband. My life and my everything. Every woman should feel like this every day.”
