Leopard 2 training planned for Ukrainian soldiers in Poland

According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, the Ukrainian armed forces will train on the main Leopard 2 main battle tanks in Poland. “Let’s start with this and then continue,” he was quoted as saying by the Ukrainian-language Voice of America. Resnikov describes the training development as a breakthrough and attributes the success to Poland’s efforts.

The minister participated yesterday in a meeting of defense ministers at the German air base in Ramstein.

He is optimistic about the decision of whether Germany will supply Leopard 2 main battle tanks in the future. Reznikov tweeted a photo of himself with Germany’s new defense minister, Boris Pistorius. In his post, he thanked, among other things, the German government for its military assistance and also wrote: “We had an open discussion about Leopard 2. To be continued.”
