This July 18, the Carlos Rafael Rodríguez University of Cienfuegos (UCf) celebrated Nelson Mandela’s International Day at its educational headquarters with the enthusiasm that distinguishes the professionals and young people who support the legacy of the legendary historical figure who dedicate his will live to fight against discrimination, racism and inequalities in the world.
Eduardo Mexidor, representative of the Caribbean Group within the UCf’s Nelson Mandela Africa Chair, spoke after the activity on the conferences held to mark the African hero’s 104th birthday.
“Our chair, created since 2018, has the objective of taking all this knowledge that our professors emeritus possess today to other areas of the country and this was done during the Nicolás Guillén Colloquium and Festival, which will take place from July 6th to 9th took place, clearly Camagüey, where more than thirty speakers took part, emphasizing poetry, racial issues and journalism from different angles,” said Mexidor.
