Leandro Hassum gets emotional with tribute to Paulo Gustavo in Battle of Lip Sync on “Domingão”

Laughter is an act of resistance. Leandro Hassum remembered this motto this Sunday when he appeared on “Domingão com Huck” at the Battle of Lip Sync. The comedian performed “New York, New York” and recalled Paulo Gustavo, a comedian who had a passion for the city. Dona Déa Lúcia, mother of Paulo Gustavo, is one of the jury members.

“Thanks Hassu, thanks for the tribute,” she said.

Soon after, Hassum spoke about the emotion.

“Not just for what he represents, I know how much Paulo loved New York. He asked us to go there and joke, ‘You’re a kitsch.’ I have a great love and the Beyoncé of humor for everything he’s done for comedy, and I’m madly in love with him.”

The comedian, who has done a lot of dubbing and dancing on the Domingão stage, wears a tshirt that reads “Laughter is an act of resistance”.

The action was completed shortly thereafter on the Domingão stage. Marcelo Serrado, the Moa of “Cara e Coragem”, immersed himself in the performance of “Camarote” by Wesley Safadão. The audience applauded and sang along with the artist. After the presentation, Serrado made a confession:

“Déa, this thing of being live makes us so, I’m out of breath”.
