Lea Michele looked racy in a black leather mini dress in NYC

Lea Michele made the streets of New York City her runway as she rocked a skintight black leather mini dress and semi-sheer tights under a long white coat on Friday.

Heading to an album book signing with fellow Funny Girl cast members Tovah Feldshuh, Ramin Karimloo and Jared Grimes, the 36-year-old actress exuded confidence as she walked the sidewalk in a pair of stiletto heels, oversized sunglasses and a velvet black handbag strutted along.

For the occasion, she wore her dark brown hair in a tousled bun with a few thin front parts, nude lipstick and bronzer for a sun-kissed glow.

Michele took on the role of Fanny Brice from Beanie Feldstein, which received less than fantastic reviews.

The show revived the original musical, starring Barbra Streisand as the title character. It opened on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theater on March 26, 1964 and closed on July 1, 1967.

The Funny Girl revival opened on April 24, 2022 and starred Feldstein as Fanny, Jane Lynch as Mrs. Bryce and Ramin Karimloo as Nick Arnstein.

Michele then took over for Feldstein in September, although her contract didn’t end until early 2023.

Feldstein left the show in July, stating that the show was going in a different direction. Julie Benko, the understudy to Fanny Brice, took over the performances until Michele stepped in.

From the beginning of her career, the Glee star made it known that her dream was to play Fanny on Broadway.

It was such a well known fact that her character in Glee, Rachel Berry, sang several songs from the show and even had a storyline starring her character as Fanny Brice on Broadway.

Jane Lynch, a colleague of Glee, left the show just before Michele was due to start as Fanny.

When asked by Playbill if Michele was the reason for her early departure from the show, Lynch said, “It has nothing to do with not wanting to see Lea. I am writing with Leah. You and I are fine. I’m excited for her.’

Despite the sudden cast changes, the show hasn’t gone anywhere but ascended since then.

According to Seat Geek, tickets for the show sold for just $69, with weekday shows selling for $49 in July and August.

After Michele joined the show, tickets went for $570 to $2,500, not including the service fees.

Earlier this week, haunting new docu-series The Price Of Glee rehashed her strained relationship with her late co-star Naya Rivera.

During the three-part limited series, Naya’s father claimed that his eldest child, who tragically died in 2020 during a boat trip with her son Josey on Lake Piru at the age of 33, and Michele regularly had “trouble” with each other.

“There was always a fight between them. Always. everyone knew. Everyone saw it,’ George claimed. “They hated each other, but at the same time respected each other’s talent.”

George also insisted his daughter, who portrayed Santana Lopez in Fox’s musical comedy drama, has never had issues with any of her other cast members.

Before her death, Rivera opened up about her long-rumored feud with Michele in her 2016 memoir, Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up.

“One of the Glee writers once said that Lea and I were like two sides of the same battery, and that pretty much sums us up,” Rivera wrote. “We’re both strong-willed and competitive — not just with each other, but with everyone — and that’s not a good mix.”

Naya continued, “However, as the series progressed, that friendship fell apart, especially as Santana transitioned from being a background character to one with bigger storylines and more screen time.”

The “Devious Maids” actress went on to say that “Lea didn’t like sharing the spotlight” and that “Lea was much more sensitive” “when people offer feedback or criticism.”

If I complained about anyone or anything, she would assume I was making fun of her,” the mother-of-one recalled.

In season six, Naya claims Michele “didn’t say a word” to her on set.

“Lea and I definitely weren’t best friends, and I doubt we’ll ever sit on her couch and eat kale together again, but the rumors of our ‘feud’ were overblown,” the late performer concluded.

Naya was the third major Glee star to die in her thirties. At the beginning of the show’s behind-the-scenes deaths, Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson, was found dead of a drug overdose in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13, 2013 at the age of 31 after taking a deadly combination of heroin and Alcohol. Four months before his death he had completed a rehabilitation stay.
