[Note: Due to the nature of how casting on Yellowjackets works, this story contains some spoilers for the show’s second season.]

Yellowjackets continues its trend of pairing its (excellent) teen cast with some (also excellent) veterans to play their adult counterparts. That said, today THR announced that Six Feet Under and Servant star Lauren Ambrose has joined the cast for the second season of the Showtime series.

More specifically – and here’s your last chance to bet if you don’t want confirmation that another member of the titular football team survived their ordeal in the wild and managed to grow up – Ambrose will play Van, the goalkeeper of the teams. who becomes involved in some of the more mystical/cult parts of the group’s struggles to survive after being stranded in the wilderness when his plane crashes.

It’s a solid cast, both in that Ambrose is obviously a great actor who has been a part of some of the most exciting television dramas of the last few decades and because she looks quite similar to Liv Hewson, who plays Van during the show’s timeline became immediate fixed after the crash. Ambrose’s casting is the first major confirmation that Van is still alive as an adult — and we can only surmise that she’s on an emotional collision course with her old flame, Taissa (whose adult actress Tawny Cypress has expressed an interest in). to see the two characters reconnect).
