Kyiv hunts down Iranian advisers who helped Russians with drones: “Forced to kill them”

Secretary of Ukraine’s Security Council Oleksiy Danilov confirmed that some technicians dispatched to help Russians deploy kamikaze drones have already been killed in Crimea and others may have been killed

The Ukrainians have a “special” target: Iranian advisers to help the Russians deploy kamikaze drones. Security Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov confirmed to the Guardian that some have already been killed in Crimea and others may be killed. “They were on our territory, they weren’t invited,” he explained. “If they collaborate with terrorists and take part in the destruction of our nation, we have an obligation to kill them.” In October, Israeli sources released information about the deaths in the occupied peninsula of about 10 pasdarans, soldiers deployed to train army personnel.

After repeatedly confirming and denying the presence of drones in Ukraine, the Iranian government admitted to sending Vladimir Putin “few” copies and only before the invasion. Initially, the unmanned aircraft sold by Tehran caused some problems and this – according to a reconstruction – led to an equally unconfirmed intervention by the “technicians”. Subsequently, the vehicles, particularly the Shahed 136, played a role in the bombing of Ukraine. It is likely – Washington says – that their use will increase as an agreement would have been signed to produce them directly in Russia.

Hunting Iranians is not easy as they are usually very far from the front lines. The resistance can therefore try to eliminate the positions with long-range systems – but here too there are limits – or with actions behind the lines entrusted to partisans and special forces, missions for which good intelligence is essential. Kyiv has its own, but also counts on the western one. Under certain circumstances, what is happening between Iran and Israel may be repeated, with the Jewish state involved in a campaign to neutralize officials and experts linked to the drone program. Accusations against the mullahs also have an important propaganda component: an oppressive regime collaborating in military aggression.
