Kristin Chenoweth Regrets She Didn’t Take Legal Action Against CBS Over ‘Long-Term Injuries’ Following ‘The Good Wife’ Accident

Kristin Chenoweth reveals she regrets not suing CBS following her injuries while filming The Good Wife in 2012 following an accident.

The Emmy- and Tony-winning star detailed the incident she suffered on the set of the drama in her new novel, I’m Not a Philosopher, But I Have Thoughts. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked her if she heard anyone from the eye network following the release of her book.

Chenoweth denied it, agreeing that she regretted not taking legal action against the broadcast network, adding, “I didn’t do it out of fear and worry, so never let fear rule your life.” I have long term injuries from it. I wish I’d listened to my dad who said, ‘You’re going to want to do this.’ And we’re not the complaining family, but when you get practically killed…”

The Pushing Daisies alum joined The Good Wife in 2012 in a recurring role for Season 4. While filming an episode for the series on location, she was hit by a lighting device and hospitalized.

“I heard something like a flagpole. I literally heard, ‘We’re losing the light.’ I heard “Action”. And I woke up at the Bellevue [Hospital]’ she recalled on the Bravo late night show. “It hit me in the face and threw me against a curb. Seven inch skull fracture, hairline [fracture]and teeth and ribs.”

Chenoweth was unable to complete her story arc in primetime drama and did not return after the injury. The actor credits her hair extensions with saving her life.

“My hair extensions, you know, put the hairline crack together. My doctor said, “What are those metal things?” And I said, ‘Those are hair extensions.’ And he said, ‘They saved your life,'” she added. “So anyone who wants hair extensions should, for your health.”
