In one of his first acts as the new King of Britain, Charles expressed his attitude towards brother, Prince Andrewmade abundantly clear by removing the Duke of York from his lavish suite at Buckingham Palace.
Prince Andrew has been an extremely controversial figure since he was originally accused of sexual misconduct by Virginia Giuffre.
Giuffre and Andrew signed a settlement agreement in 2022, but it’s understood the upcoming release of her memoir likely played a role King Charles‘ Decision making.
The settlement was worth millions of pounds
The details of the settlement signed between the two remain confidential, although it is believed to have been worth over £1million.
In addition, it prevented both parties from discussing the case publicly for a period of 12 months, but the release of Giuffre‘s memoirs will probably appear after that time.
This release of new details, albeit from the prosecutor’s perspective, is likely to put Andrew and the royal family as a whole under renewed scrutiny.
This could be the reason King Charles has sought to marginalize him and distance him from his new regime, particularly with the coronation scheduled for May.
Sources have told the New York Post that the book deal has been co-signed Giuffre is also worth millions.
Prince Andrew was ordered to vacate his suite at Buckingham Palace, despite not living there permanently anyway.
His current home is said to be the 31-room Royal Lodge in Windsor, which he shares with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, with whom he has two children. Beatrice and Eugenie.
The couple have been separated since 1992 and officially divorced in 1996, well before the original 2014 allegations were leveled against him.
