Kim Thúy crowned Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature of the French Republic

Kim Thúy was made a Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature of the French Republic on Monday.

The author received this award at the French Consulate General in Quebec from the hands of Consul General Frédéric Sanchez. She was surrounded by her family and friends during a ceremony organized at the Résidence de France.

This award recognizes the author’s exceptional career – who was once a lawyer, columnist and conservator – and her contribution to the literary world. His dedicated and sensitive work shines in Quebec, France and around the world.

His first novel, Ru, published in 2009, was a smash hit when it was published. The book is a bestseller in Quebec and France and has been translated into more than 25 languages. He has also won numerous literary awards, including the Grand Prix RTL-Lire at the 2010 Paris Book Fair and the prestigious Governor General of Canada Award.

Kim Thúy then published four more novels, A toi, mãn, Vi and more recently Em.
