Ripley’s loaned Kim the dress for the Met Gala, with Kim reportedly losing more than 16 pounds to fit into the dress for the party.

The event became controversial a month after the Met, when before-and-after photos showed some of the embedded crystals were now missing and one of the dress’s zippers was also reportedly damaged.

Despite the photos, Ripley released a statement claiming, “She did not damage the garment in any way in the short time it was worn to the Met Gala.”

Amanda Joiner, Ripley’s VP of Publishing and Licensing, added, “From the bottom of the Met steps where Kim stepped into the dress, to the top where it was returned, the dress was in the same condition it was in started.”
