Killed and wounded in army operation in the West Bank

After the violence in the Gaza Strip, three Palestinians were killed and dozens were wounded in Israeli army operations in the West Bank. The Israeli army said terrorist Ibrahim al-Nabulsi, a high-ranking representative of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, was killed during a house search in Nablus that morning. The Palestinian Health Ministry spoke of two other Palestinians killed and at least 40 wounded, four of whom were in mortal danger.

“Terrorist Ibrahim al-Nabulsi was killed in the city of Nablus,” the Israeli army said of the house search, in which Israeli police and secret service were also involved. “Another terrorist who was in the house” also died. Israeli security forces said they fired a rocket into the house. Four suspects were arrested accordingly.

mutual fire

Nabulsi was commander of the al-Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of the Fatah party, in the West Bank. He is said to have been involved in several attacks on Israel. Hundreds of people gathered today in front of the Rafidia hospital in Nablus, where al-Nabulsi’s body was taken, a correspondent for the AFP news agency reported.

Israeli army and Palestinians fired at each other in the old town of Nablus. Amid the clashes, the Israeli army stopped traffic in Nablus, one of the largest cities in the West Bank.

dozens of dead

On Friday, the Israeli army bombed Islamic Jihad targets in the Gaza Strip. According to Palestinian sources, 46 people were killed, including 16 children, and another 360 were injured. In response to the air strikes, Islamic Jihad fired over 1,000 rockets at Israel. Three people were injured at the scene. The Israeli government claims that some of the children and other civilians were killed by Islamic Jihad rockets.

Israel and Islamic Jihad agreed to a ceasefire on Sunday, brokered by Egypt. However, Israel reserved the right to “respond resolutely” in the event of a ceasefire violation. Islamic Jihad also declared its readiness to respond to “any aggression”.
