After being away for almost 300 days, an emotional Kenny Omega addressed fans after himself & The Young Bucks defeated Andrade El Idolo, Rush and Dragon Lee in a first round tournament match to become the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions crown.

“Kind of a stroke of luck and because these guys [Young Bucks] better than you think we could survive tonight” Omega told fans at the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, WV after the 8/17 “AEW Dynamite” de-aired.

It’s at this point that Matt Jackson pointed out how the AEW people have been booing the Bucks for the past year or so.

“He’s right,” joked Omega. “And maybe I should be pissed too, because the reason I’m in this state right now, the reason I need to have three, sometimes four sessions of physical rehab every day is because of you. Maybe I should hate each and every one of you for coming back here for you. It’s never for me

In conclusion, Omega has showered more love on the AEW fan base.

“Well, on TV, I can blame you guys,” Omega pointed out. “I may be angry with you guys. But maybe deep down, as long as this never gets aired, I appreciate you guys a lot. Many Thanks.”

AEW has announced that the World Trios Championship tournament will resume next week on the AEW Dynamite Death Triangle (PAC, Penta & Rey Fenix) take on Will Ospreay & Aussie Open in another first-round match. The first champions will be crowned at the All Out pay-per-view on September 4th.
