,I have to do it!’ Kelly Brook is asking ITV bosses to let her host ‘middle-aged Love Island spinoff’ – 18 years after she first hosted the dating show

Kelly Brook has asked ITV bosses to allow her to host the reported middle-aged Love Island spin-off.

The 43-year-old model and TV star first hosted the original Love Island series – then called Celebrity Love Island – in 2005 alongside Patrick Kielty, which starred such famous contestants as Callum Best and Liz McClarnon.

And now, 18 years later, Kelly insists she must take the helm once more, remarking, “I have to do it!” as she is ‘Vintage Love Island’.

Amid the recent news that ITV is recruiting singletons over 40 for new show The Romance Retreat, Kelly expressed her interest in becoming part of the Love Island family again during her Heart FM radio show with co-star JK (Jason King).

She said: “I have to do it. I’m sorry but I’m Vintage Love Island. I did the first series. Hi?!

“I just want to raise my hand for this job if they are looking for a host. I still can’t present very well, but that doesn’t matter.”

Kelly, who married her longtime partner Jeremy Parisi last year, said a top TV producer originally “proposed” the idea to her and that she was “at the beginning” of the hugely popular dating series from the start.

She explained: “She showed me a map of what Love Island would be like and suggested the whole idea.

“I was there from the start. I was consulting producer on the first series of Love Island!’

And while she had her own happy ending in her stunning Italian ceremony, Kelly shared how she’s been calling for a series for older contestants for years because people of all ages can find love.

She shared, “You don’t give up on finding love just because you’re over 25, you can find love at any age.”

It comes after ITV1 announced its new show, which will be similar to the ever-popular Love Island.

In an official appeal, the network is seeking “live single parents from across the UK who are looking for love”.

The show will be called The Romance Retreat and will see contestants staying in a luxurious villa to find love.

It appears that the show is very similar to its Love Island concept, however it remains unclear if the winners of The Romance Retreat will win a cash prize at the end of the series.

For the past few weeks, fans have said they want a “middle-aged Love Island spin-off.”

“This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love by spending time in a luxurious retreat where all parents have been nominated by their adult children,” reads the casting announcement.

Producers also gave fans a glimpse of the new mansion for the show, which is a stunning, state-of-the-art abode in a sunny but undisclosed location.

Fans can apply until Friday, March 31st.
