"keep the money" : pity taken away, a robber prefers to leave … with nothing

The essentials When a robber in Brussels found out how little money was in a shopkeeper’s till, he felt sorry and got nothing.

A funny burglary. As TF1 reports, upon seeing how little money was in a retailer’s cash register, a thief out of pity moved away…with nothing. The Facts took place in Brussels on Thursday 12 January.

The robber breaks into the back of the wine shop. He begins by threatening an employee with his gun. “He took her by the shoulder, he buckled her, he put his gun on her stomach,” the dealer tells our colleagues. The thief then heads for the office. “I sat, he pointed the gun right at me and he asked us to give him the money that we might have in the drawer.”

However, the box contains only 110 euros. Surprised, the kidnapper then questions the wine merchant. “Then we explained to him that due to the current situation and crises, we unfortunately didn’t have more to give him. In fact, he took it back and told me ‘keep your money’. I almost feel like I’m reading into his eyes ‘you need it a lot more than I do'”.

The robber, who quickly fled on a motorcycle, is still actively being sought.
