Kate Winslet gave a young journalist the chance to do her first interview and the video of the moment has now gone viral.
In the clip, which has been viewed thousands of times on social media, the Avatar: The Way of Water star sat down for an interview with a child, who admitted she was a little scared.
“It’s my first time,” said the interviewer.
Winslet leaned forward and said, “Is this your first time? OK, guess what. If we do this interview, it will be the most amazing interview ever. And do you know why? Because we decided it will be.”
While the interviewer gave a nervous laugh, Winslet continued, “Well we’ve decided now, me and you, this is going to be a really fantastic interview. And you can ask me anything you want and you don’t have to be afraid, everything will be great.”
The young journalist agreed with the Titanic star and the actor reassured her by saying: “You got that. OK, let’s do it!”

Winslet returned for the sequel to Avatar, directed by James Cameron. During the London premiere event in December 2022, Winslet remarked that it was “absolutely amazing” to be working with him after 25 years.
“He’s so good at bringing the actors together and letting them figure it out,” she told Deadline. “If something doesn’t work, he says, ‘Okay, let’s do something else.’ And so that sense of collaboration was amazing, and I think even, probably more than I expected.”
Winslet also noted that Cameron is now much “calmer and more relaxed” since becoming a parent.
