A 72yearold woman was beaten by a thief trying to steal her car in Texas, USA. The perpetrator died in a car accident while fleeing. The incident happened on April 12th.
According to WBRC, Shirlene Hernandez was at a gas station and, like every day, wanted to buy a soda. The criminal saw the opportunity and decided to steal her car, but before hitting the elderly woman several times to get the car keys.
The people who were at the scene of the crime still tried to stop the bandit from escaping, but they couldn’t. But a short time later the man was involved in a serious accident and died.
Despite everything, Shirlene Hernandez still regretted what happened to the attacker. “There are many people who would say what goes around comes around, karma. I didn’t think so. It was really sad because he had died. He hurt me, but the Lord saw fit to put him out of his misery,” he said.
Her granddaughter and her neighbors decided to start a virtual crowdfunding to give her another car. The original goal was $5,000, but the fallout from the case has already managed to raise more than $28,000 (about R$130,000).
