Kanye finally spoke to GAP executives after claiming they barred him from Yeezy x GAP meetings.
Apparently things are not going so well between Kanye West and GAP. The retail giant and the hip-hop mogul have worked closely together, but it seems they don’t want to let ye be ye. The rapper hit the ‘Gram last night where he revealed GAP held a meeting without him. This morning he accused GAP of biting Yeezy x Balenciaga designs.
It seems like Kanye West has finally caught the attention of GAP executives. The mogul broke the grammar with a 6-minute video in which he appears to be explaining to executives why the collaboration is “not celebrity marketing.” “This is a life’s work,” he added. In the lengthy speech, Kanye explains his passion for fashion and how he intends to use it to change the world through it. He stated his own desire to open retail stores for his GAP line.
“You really have to give me the position to be ye and do what I think, or I have to do what I think somewhere else. Because if there’s one thing I learned from Virgil, when something kills you, it actually kills you,” he said. Kanye West then yelled at GAP for canceling pre-orders for the blue jackets, before calling them “crazy” for only running an ad once, despite seeing a huge spike in sales.

“This is the moment. There will never be an opportunity with a guy like me who cares so much about this brand and has up to this point. We’re like Tom Brady, who wakes people up at 2 a.m. during COVID, but he went back and got this ring,” he said. “We’re the football team. This is our football team. And I’m actually the Tom Brady because Demna asked for $4000 for a shirt. I say…how do we go to Costco, how do we go to Old Navy prices?”
Ye further explained that he is active in the factories before giving GAP an ultimatum. “It’s bigger than us. We shouldn’t argue. But I say I must pull the sword out of the stone,” he added. “Either you believe me or I’ll show you. I can either show you looking in that direction [back facing the executives] Or look this way [frontward],” he said.
At the end of the video, Kanye shuts down the laughter among the executives and swears by Virgil and his mother. Watch the video below.
