Reports that Kanye West is seeking help after his recent run-in with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her new boyfriend Pete Davidson are false, a rep for the rapper tells Yahoo.
Earlier this week, a “source close to the Kardashians” told Page Six that West told his former spouse he was “going off to get help.”
“For the sake of the kids, Kanye has told Kim he’s not making any public appearances or inflammatory statements on social media, and he’s going somewhere to get better,” the source claimed.
However, West’s new head of media and partnerships, Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked, told Yahoo in an April 1 statement that this narrative was incorrect.
“Ye monitors all headlines related to him and his family on a daily basis. Most are being fed to the media by ‘sources close to the Kardashians’ who have created a false narrative that is not only untrue but further jeopardizes his goal of creating a healthy environment for the wonderful children he is with Kim shares,” Lee said. “He was focused on taking care of himself, being a present and loving father, and a creative genius long before there were all the fake headlines we’ve been seeing lately.”
Lee added that while Ye doesn’t respond to many headlines, the story about speaking to Kim is “just plain untrue.”
“If you don’t hear it from his mouth, read it from his social media, or get it from a press release he approved, it’s just plain wrong,” Lee concluded.
Yahoo reached out to the Kardashians for comment.
West has faced backlash in recent weeks for mocking social media posts he shared about Davidson, who Kardashian began dating late last year after appearing with the comedian on Saturday Night Live . West also released a video for his song “Eazy,” in which he buried a claymation version of Davidson alive.
Earlier this week, Kardashian and West both appeared at their son Saint’s soccer game in Los Angeles.
The KKW Beauty founder recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and explained how she wishes to have a healthy co-parenting relationship with the Donda artist.
“I think that’s just who I am and I’ve always seen such a good example in my mum and dad in their relationship so I’m always just hopeful and no matter what happens it’s the father of my kids,” said Kardashian. “I will always be protective – I always want my kids to see only the best of the best. So I just try – as hard as it can be sometimes – I try to ignore it and just do what’s best for the kids.”
