Yamamoto, out since January 11 with an upper-body injury, will be used against the Blueshirts, head coach Jay Woodcroft has confirmed.

The diminutive winger, who has 12 points including four goals in 31 games this season, is poised to attack for the remainder of the season.

“I feel really good now. […] I think it’s definitely time to put my injury in the rearview mirror. It’s been going on for a while so I think it’s time to move on and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season,” Yamamoto said, according to the Toronto Sun.

With his return to the roster, the Oilers will have a salary cap issue. For his part, Woodcroft isn’t too concerned about the situation.

“Ken [Holland, le directeur général] has a lot of balls in the air. All I know is that “Yamo” will play in tomorrow’s game.

24-year-old striker Jesse Puljujarvi, who is the subject of rumours, was also absent from training for his team on Thursday morning for a “spa day”.
