Cody Simpson reaches out to friend Justin Bieber after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome that causes facial paralysis: ‘You’re an inspiration’
Cody Simpson has shared a heartfelt message of support for his friend Justin Bieber who is battling Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.
The Australian singer and swimmer, 25, posted a photo of the couple in the recording studio on Wednesday on Instagram when they were both teenage pop stars.
In the caption, Cody told Justin, 28, to “get well soon” and described the baby hitmaker as an “inspiration.”

Ramsay Hunt syndrome is a complication of shingles that can cause temporary facial paralysis.
Justin revealed his diagnosis in a three-minute video on Instagram last Friday after canceling dates on his Justice World Tour due to his illness.
“Get well soon Justin,” Cody wrote.
“I think this is the first time we’ve hung out and worked together. Man how young were we. We play each other’s songs that we recently wrote.’

Justin updated fans on Monday about his health and said his Christian faith is helping him get through his struggle.
“It’s at this point in my life that I realize storms come and go,” the Canadian pop star said.
“Jesus keeps reminding me that He is with me in the middle of the storm. It’s not about the storm. It’s that we are NEVER ALONE AND HE UNDERSTANDS.’

The Peaches singer said that “every day has gotten better,” adding, “I know this storm will pass, but in the meantime JESUS IS WITH ME.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, the hearing loss and facial paralysis associated with Ramsay Hunt syndrome are usually temporary. However, it can become permanent.

“Obviously, as you can probably see from my face. I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome and it’s from this virus that’s attacking the nerves in my ear and nerves in my face and has made my face paralyzed.
Justin later posted a sad update on his Instagram story, writing: “It was getting harder and harder to eat which was extremely frustrating please pray for me.
“It breaks my heart that I have to postpone these next shows (doctor’s order). To all my people, I love you so much and I will rest and get better.’
