Juraj Slafkovsky will be out for the next three months

Several injured Montreal Canadiens players are on the verge of returning to play, and among them Juraj Slafkovsky will be out of action for three months, the club announced Wednesday midday.

Alongside the first pick of the National Hockey League’s recent amateur draft, who will not undergo surgery because of his lower-body injury, Jake Evans will remain on the ground for an extended period of eight to 10 weeks.

Then Jonathan Drouin and Joel Armia, both hit in the upper body, stay away at least until the All-Star game break returns. Finally, goaltender Jake Allen will have to wait at least another week before returning to action.

Consequently, Slafkovsky’s campaign is logically over; the final game of the Bleu Blanc Rouge is scheduled for April 13th. He couldn’t complete Sunday’s duel against Rangers in New York, visibly annoyed by a discomfort in his left leg.

For his part, Evans reached out to New York Islanders’ Brock Nelson on Saturday.

Drouin and Armia both lost Tuesday’s game to the Winnipeg Jets. Allen (upper body), brilliantly replaced by Samuel Montembeault, played for the last time on January 7th.

The Canadian welcomes the Florida Panthers on Thursday.
