The daughter of Ambra Angiolini and Francesco Renga told “Verissimo” how she felt about the criticism she received from haters for her physical appearance, which prompted her to record a video on TikTok that later went viral
When she made her Instagram profile public, Jolanda Renga never thought that she would be the target of a lot of criticism because of her physical appearance. At first she had made so much nastiness cry, but when the discouragement wore off, the eighteen-year-old daughter of Ambra Angiolini and Francesco Renga decided to reply to the haters with this video on TikTok (“Hi, it’s me, the ugly daughter” ), which quickly went viral. And now, a month later, Jolanda has agreed to tell Verissimo what happened.
“It hurts me to hear me say that you are ugly or not as beautiful as your mother. I understood that it was an open wound – he told Silvia Toffanin in the interview that was previewed – . When I decided to make my Instagram profile public, I did it because I thought it could be a useful tool to say the things that are important to me. By opening the profile, the first followers came and with them the first positive and negative comments. One day I saw a video that a boy dedicated to me to compliment me and out of curiosity I read the comments: they hurt me a lot and I cried for an hour.
This gave rise to the idea of capturing the famous social outburst. «I took it up immediately without asking my parents for advice – explained the girl –. I wanted to do something for myself, but also for those who are going through a similar situation as me. What really made me happy were the stories from girls and mothers who thanked me for what I said. That was the biggest win.”
