The 29-year-old athlete will not be in the roster on Saturday night when his teammates take on the Stars in Dallas.

Gaudreau was injured in Thursday’s 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets. His health is checked daily.

The forward’s streak was the third-longest active streak in the National League, behind Vegas Golden Knights defender Phil Kessell (1,037) and Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brent Burns (733).

Gaudreau is the Blue Jackets’ leading scorer this season. In 55 games, he hit the target 15 times and provided 37 assists for 52 points. This is the American’s first season with Columbus, who has signed a seven-year contract worth a total of $68.25 million.
