The Icelandic Falls has added a mold of legendary musician Jimi Hendrix’s erect penis to its collection as an incentive to increase visits once the pandemic has passed.
This museum houses a collection of around 400 pieces, ranging from whale sex organs in acrylic tubes to raccoon penises in formaldehyde.
In his archive there is even a compilation of all the genitalia forms of the Icelandic handball team that won the silver medal at the Beijing Olympics.
Now visitors can admire the latest addition to the collection, a work by American artist Cynthia Albritton, who dedicated her work to plastering rock stars’ penises.
A certificate of authenticity describes the item as a latex replica of an original from 1968, two years before the death of the artist, author of songs like “Foxy Lady” and “Hey Joe”, who died at the age of 27 died of an overdose.

“This is definitely one of our most treasured pieces,” said Thordur Olafur Thordarson, the museum’s curator.
The story behind the takeover is a coincidence. An American couple who visited the museum were the artist’s neighbors and told her about the faloteca.
“They thought it would be a great opportunity for them to leave a lasting legacy,” Thordarson explained.
