Jessica Chastain has been driving the promotional push for her latest television series George & Tammy, which comes just over nine weeks after the premiere and more than a month after the finale.

On Sunday, the Hollywood leading lady attended a screening of the six-episode show starring Chastain and Michael Shannon as country legends Tammy Wynette and George Jones at The Whitby Hotel in the heart of Upper Midtown Manhattan.

After being driven to the hotel, the Oscar-winner was easily spotted stepping out of her vehicle in a striking red ’70s-inspired suit, consisting of loose-fitting trousers that flared wide enough to accommodate her white shoes to cover.

There was also a double-breasted blazer that was left unbuttoned to allow a better view of the perfectly fitting shirt she wore underneath.

And to match the color theme, Chastain would also don a pair of super cool red glasses with bright red lenses as soon as she made her way back onto the busy streets ahead of the event.

To complete her overall look, the The Help (2011) star had her red locks that flowed down her chest and well down her shoulder to about mid-back with a center parting.

It appeared the fan-friendly star was already in promo mode when she arrived at the event, as she gave a warm smile to an admiring photographer and then to some fans outside the hotel.

The six-episode drama TV miniseries premiered on December 4, 2022 on Showtime, its main network, along with Paramount Network and CMT, eventually concluding with the finale on January 8.

The drama chronicled Jones and Wynette’s tumultuous relationship and intertwined careers, which led to them releasing nine studio albums and 15 singles as a singing duo from 1971 to 1995.

They had been married for two years when they released the first of nine albums, We Go Together (1971), but their relationship eventually ended in divorce in 1975.

Chastain and Shannon recorded their own vocals for the series and performed them live on set, The Cinemaholic reported.

Both actors worked with vocal coach Ron Browning for months prior to filming, concentrating on a total of 31 songs.

“These songs are pretty deep and have some dark corners in them and we spent a lot of time on them,” revealed Shannon. “In addition to how to sing them, I think they also taught us who the people were and what story we were telling.”

The series received critical acclaim, particularly for the performances by Chastain and Shannon. For her role, Chastain received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Miniseries or Movie, which took place last month.
