Comedian Mick Molloy is set to appear alongside Mark “MG” Geyer on Triple M’s new breakfast show Mick and MG in the Morning in 2023 after the show The MG, Jess and Pagey was canceled with just a day’s notice.
Jess Eva announced on Thursday that the MG, Jess & Pagey show will not continue next year and that Friday will be the “last show,” while Chris Page announced his exit from the breakfast show back in October.
Former Network 10 news anchor Natarsha Belling also joins the team as news anchor.
“Mick and MG in the Morning will bring Triple M listeners a fresh new breakfast offering, but also the familiar voice of Molloy and his legendary radio antics,” Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) said in a statement released Friday.
“Well-known and respected news anchor Natarsha Belling will join the show as the news anchor, bantering with the best of them to keep the boys on their toes.”
Meanwhile, Molloy said: “I’m excited to return to my spiritual home at Triple M and look forward to immersing myself in the Sydney morning radio scene.

“After a year away from the airwaves I wanted a new challenge and Sydney is the perfect opportunity. I also look forward to working with MG and sharing stories.”
“And if that doesn’t work out, I’ll throw my hat in the ring at The Project. Heard there’s an opening,” he joked of the Channel 10 news program’s mass exodus.
MG said in the statement that he was excited to be working with Molloy in the new year.
“I can’t wait to work with Mickey, who I consider a radio royal. One of us owns a pub, the other a gym. The “cross-over” activities after work will be eye-catching!’ he said.

“If you come in here for a breakfast show and pick up some soul mates and then come out and have some wine, how good is it to live?” Jess told listeners on Thursday
Molloy has spent three decades with SCA and the last 11 years with Triple M Radio where he appeared on the Footy commentary team.
He is also the presenter of The Front Bar on Channel Seven.
The announcement comes after former Block star Jess Eva announced that The MG, Jess & Pagey show will not continue next year and that Friday will be the “last show”.
On Thursday, Jess clarified that she and MG will not be out of work and are still part of the “Triple M family.”
“Tomorrow is all about reflection,” MG told listeners. “Tomorrow is all about the year we had together.”
Pagey announced his departure from the breakfast show back in October to pursue other opportunities outside of radio
An emotional Jess then reached out to MG and co-host Cat Lynch, who has been filling in since Pagey’s departure.
“I just adore you. At the end of the day… If you can stop in here for a breakfast show and pick up some soul mates and then get out and have some wine, how good is life?
Distraught fans left comments on Triple M’s Instagram account about the deletion, with most expressing shock at the news.
“No no,” one commented, while another wrote, “Wtf no way!”
In October, Pagey surprised listeners by announcing that he was leaving the station at the end of the year.

On her Triple M show, the host said it was time for something different after more than a decade on the network.
“Sometimes you can do the same thing for too long,” he began.
He joked that his next role doesn’t require him to get up at 4 a.m. every day.
An emotional Pagey said he forged strong bonds with his colleagues at Triple M that would last a lifetime.
“I love this radio station and all the people who work here. It’s a family,” he said.
Back in April, news broke that former Triple-M star Lawrence “Moonman” Mooney had settled the $1 million breach of contract claim he filed against the radio network late last year.
It was still listed for directions as of May 11, but sources confirmed to Chron Australia the matter had been resolved. The terms of the settlement are unknown.
The court heard in February that Mooney had feared South Cross would “smear” him with baseless allegations as it tried to justify his sudden termination.
Mooney requested more than $1 million for his brief departure from his radio show Moonman in the Morning in November.
Back in April, news broke that former Triple-M star Lawrence “Moonman” Mooney (pictured) had settled the $1 million breach of contract suit he brought against the radio network late last year
Mooney’s labor law specialist John Laxon described the case as a “very simple breach of contract claim” before it was settled.
When the case went to court in February, both sides had agreed to mediation, but Mr Laxon said Southern Cross Austereo was 44 days late in filing a defence.
Mooney was fired from his breakfast radio concert on November 12, 2021 and is suing Southern Cross Austereo for more than $1 million in unpaid wages.
Mooney’s exit comes two weeks after he suddenly disappeared from the airwaves amid rumors of a huge falling out with co-host Eva, who starred in the 2018 season of The Block.
Mick and MG in the Morning will air weekdays from 6am to 9am next year from Monday 16 January.
