Jeremy Renner has been discharged from the operating room and remains in intensive care after suffering “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” in a snowplough accident.

The Marvel actor was flown to the hospital on Sunday (January 1) after being involved in a “weather-related accident” while clearing snow near his home in Reno, Nevada. His representatives said he was in “critical but stable condition” after being treated by doctors.

In a new update Monday night, the 51-year-old actor’s rep revealed he had two surgeries earlier in the day. “Jeremy suffered trauma to his chest and is suffering from orthopedic injuries and underwent surgery today January 2, 2023. He returned from the operating room and is in critical but stable condition in intensive care,” we can read in the press release.

Washoe Police said in a statement they were “responding to a traumatic injury in the Mt. Rose Highway area of ​​Reno, Nevada” around 9 a.m. Sunday. Jeremy Renner was the only person involved in the incident under investigation.

Eyewitnesses told TMZ that the actor was clearing the road near his home so his family could get out after a massive snowstorm on New Year’s Eve Saturday.

The safety devices on his personal snow plow, Snowcat, reportedly failed and the device accidentally crushed one of his legs. The eyewitness said the actor lost a lot of blood while a neighbor who is a doctor strapped a tourniquet to his leg until paramedics arrived. Footage obtained by TMZ showed the snowplow being towed out of the crash area hours later.
