As Variety reports, it has now been confirmed that the star suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries as Renner remains in a critical but stable position.

“Jeremy’s family would like to say thank you to the incredible doctors and nurses caring for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Carano and Murdock families,” it said in a statement from Renner’s spokesman. “They are also enormously overwhelmed and grateful for the love and support from his fans.”

Original story 01/02/2022: Hawkeye’s Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable” condition after being involved in a snowplow accident near Reno, Nevada.

As Variety reports, Renner’s rep confirmed the news, saying the MCU actor is in good hands.

“We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition and has sustained injuries after a weather-related accident while snow plowing earlier this morning,” Renner’s representative said. “His family is with him and he is being well taken care of.”

Officials with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a “traumatic” injury near the Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada, around 9 a.m. PT on Sunday, Jan. 1.

“Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for Mr. Jeremy Renner’s medical transport via care flight to a local hospital. Mr. Renner was the only party involved in the incident.”

No further details were released, but the Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team is “currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Renner has owned a home in Washoe County for many years, and according to News 4, the county just had a massive snow storm on New Year’s Eve and over 31,000 people lost power.

Renner made his MCU debut as Hawkeye in 2011’s Thor and co-starred in the first Avengers film. In 2022, he starred alongside Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop in Disney+’s Hawkeye series.
