Jen Shah reported Friday to a federal prison in Texas to serve her 6 1/2 year sentence for participating in a statewide telemarketing program.
“Jennifer Shah has arrived at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Bryan, Texas and is in Bureau of Prisons custody,” a Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital.
“For privacy and security reasons, we do not release information about the detention conditions of any inmate or group of inmates,” the spokesman added.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to wire fraud last year. She originally faced up to 50 years behind bars.
Federal Prison Camp Bryan (FPC Bryan), a minimum-security camp for female inmates located about 90 miles northwest of Houston in Bryan, Texas, has a total of 559 inmates.
However, Shah won’t be the only famous face in prison when Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes begins her 11-year sentence at the 37-acre facility in April. Holmes was found guilty of defrauding investors who funded her company for fake blood tests.

Before Jen checked into her new apartment, she made sure to keep her family physically close with a tattoo of her loved one’s names on her arm.

Shah is married to University of Utah assistant football coach Sharrieff Shah and the couple have two sons together – Omar and Sharrieff Jr.
In a statement to Fox News Digital on Thursday, Shah’s attorney Priya Chaudhry said: “Jen Shah’s determination to heal her victims and transform their lives is unyielding. She is determined to serve her sentence with courage and determination, driven by her desire to repair the harm she has caused and to help others in her new community.
“No obstacle will stop Jen from making the most of her time in prison and she is determined to make amends to those whose lives she has impacted.
“Her journey will be filled with challenges, but with the unwavering love and support of her family and friends, Jen is ready to face those challenges head on and emerge from this experience a better person who will have a positive impact on others,” the statement said completed.
Jen was sentenced in January to 78 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised imprisonment. Arrested while Bravo cameras rolled in March 2021, she pleaded innocent in the nationwide scam targeting the elderly, only to have her plea changed last year.
Once Shah completes the admissions process, which includes medical and social screening, she will be assigned a housing unit and will develop an individualized plan with “educational and psychology staff” to work towards “community re-entry,” according to the handbook of FPC Bryan .

The general wake-up call for all inmates is 6 a.m., and “late risers who are unable to keep rooms or get to work on time will be disciplined”. The lights go out at 10:30 p.m., except on weekends or public holidays when inmates get an extra hour.
She will give up her luxurious life of designer labels and instead wear “pastel green, gray and/or white” government attire that will be branded with her name and registration number. Shah will also be issued individual washcloths and towels.

Jewelry is limited to plain wedding rings, necklaces without stones, and “proper religious medallions” to be worn on the inside of the shirt. Total value cannot exceed $100.
Similarly, Jen is allowed to have approved work, shower, and “sports/specialty” shoes with a maximum value of $100. Shoes are “placed neatly under the bed”.

The 49-year-old reality star initially pleaded not guilty in 2021 but entered a guilty plea a year later in a settlement that dropped money laundering charges. She agreed to forfeit $6.5 million and provide a refund of up to $9.5 million.

According to the original indictment, Shah and Smith allegedly used third-party names for their business units. The pair allegedly urged victims to use encrypted messages as a means of communication and instructed users to send payments to offshore accounts.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York’s El Dorado Task Force with assistance from HSI Salt Lake.
“Shah’s fraud scheme targeted and exploited vulnerable, often elderly, working class people. She and her co-conspirators built their publicly lavish lifestyles on the false promises of financial independence offered to their victims – victims who, to them, were merely ‘hints’. to buy and sell,” said Ivan J. Arvelo, Special Agent in Charge for Homeland Security Investigations in New York.
“Shah’s crimes had a deep, lasting impact on the lives of her victims, and today’s significant conviction and forfeiture reflects the seriousness of her crimes,” Arvelo continued. “HSI, along with our partners at the New York City Police Department and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, remains committed to using our expertise in financial investigations to investigate and prosecute those involved in preying on the most vulnerable members of make our society.”
