After the storms in Corsica claimed several victims, they moved to Italy. A storm that ravaged Tuscany left two dead and eighteen injured on Thursday, August 18, according to Italian regional authorities.

Strong winds and torrential rain have hit the region between the coast and the tourist city of Florence. A man and a woman were killed by falling trees, according to local media. According to local news site Toscana in Diretta, four people were injured by more uprooted trees at a campsite and four others were hit by a blown-off roof. They were taken to the hospital.

Ten people were also slightly injured. Hundreds more were evacuated and housed in schools and gymnasiums that were converted into emergency shelters by the civil defense agency.

The City of Milan announced that municipal parks will be closed on Friday, August 19, urging citizens not to park their cars or walk under trees and to ensure nothing can fall on their balconies. Lazio, the Rome region, was also forecast showers accompanied by strong winds in its area, beginning Thursday evening and continuing throughout Friday.
