Blue Jays the news Quebecois Otto Lopez fears

It was short in the majors for Otto Lopez

Quebec’s Otto Lopez’s stint with the Toronto Blue Jays lasted just one game.

The infielder was demoted to the Buffalo Bisons at AAA level on Tuesday. He had been called up to the majors the day before but didn’t play in the 6-4 loss to the Rays in Tampa Bay.

Right-hander Thomas Hatch suffered the same fate as Lopez, while infielder Ernie Clement experienced the opposite. In addition, pitcher Adam Cimber’s name was removed from the injured list.

This season with the Bisons, Lopez maintained a .213 batting average. In 36 games he scored 27 goals.

Later that evening, the Blue Jays play the second game of a four-game series against the Rays at Tropicana Field.
