If since the release of the Modern Warfare reboot in 2019 the license has seen several additional works such as COD: Black Ops Cold War or Vanguard, Modern Warfare remains one of gamers’ favorite episodes.

It must be recognized that in addition to offering a high-level single player campaign, the multiplayer experience has also been spot on. In fact, many players still compete on the COD Modern Warfare servers, both on consoles and PC.

Still, some PS5 owners have been bumping into it for the past few months all the difficulties in the world to play COD Modern Warfare on their machine. In fact, players come across it while trying to access any of the three components of the game, namely Campaign, Multiplayer or Spec Ops an error message that the required data packages are not installed.

And when players follow the instructions to download these famous data packs, Another error message appears informing you that the installation “suspended”. And unfortunately there is currently no solution to restart the download of the packages in question.

Result if you have uninstalled the game from your PS5 and you want to play it again… Well you will have to choose another title if in any case you have this problem. “Known issue: Some players are reporting that they cannot install multiplayer packs and are receiving a message that their installation has been suspended,” the publisher’s official support page states.

Worse, everything seems to indicate that Activision isn’t really working to fix the problem the relevant page was last updated in March 2022. Add to that the nightmare caused by Warzone’s integration with the famous Call of Duty hub, which gives access to all the current titles in the license.

The flaw in Warzone’s success?

Every time a patch for Warzone is released, Data packs for playing Modern Warfare will be removedwhich forces players to download no less than again 200GB of data if they want to access the full experience (solo, multiplayer and spec ops). In total, Users need to install 26 different packages…

However, you can still play Warzone. That’s the whole problem, because ever since Warzone had the success we know, Activision has moved all storage and development resources to Battle Royale mode, to the detriment of previous titles, keep an eye on Modern Warfare. As a reminder, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is slated for release on October 28th, 2022 on consoles and PC, and Activision just unveiled a new trailer for the title’s single-player campaign on August 17th, 2022.
