Injured, Beterbiev has to postpone the title defense

Bored with injury, adoptive Montrealer Artur Beterbiev will not be able to defend his title against Anthony Yarde next October.

The fight, which was set for October 29 in London, will be pushed back to early 2023, according to TVA Sports pundit Jeff Jeffrey. However, the nature of his injury is not known.

Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs) is considered a favorite against England’s Yarde (22-2, 21 KOs).

Trainer Marc Ramsey’s protégé recently got rid of American Joe Smith Jr with ease. He has publicly expressed his desire to add the World Boxing Organization belt to his collection, which belongs to one Dmitrii Bivol.

Beterbiev is World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation light heavyweight champion.
