NEW DELHI, 9th August (RHC) India registered a further 12,751 people infected with Covid-19 and 42 new deaths from the cause, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported.
The number of active cases of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the contagious disease, is currently 131,807 in the country.
The number of people infected since January 2020 has risen to 44 million 174,650, according to statistics from the health authorities.
According to official figures, the death toll from the infection has now risen to 526,772.
The national patient recovery rate is 98.50 percent, with a total of 43,516,071 people recovered from the pandemic to date.
