“I’ve cleaned every type of stovetop there is,” said Kacie Stevens, owner of Melbourne-based cleaning company The Big Clean Co

Kacie starts by taking all the grates and burners off the stove and soaking them in soapy water.

“Next, I vacuum up any excess food so it doesn’t get caught on my cloth because it could scratch the stove,” she said.

She added, “It’s SO RARE that we come into contact with a stovetop that hasn’t been scratched.”

The next step in the process is to use a degreaser all over the surface.

Kacie recommends For All Australia’s Degreaser ($23.95) for this step.

“I really love that I can lather it up,” she said of the product.

If the oven still isn’t clean enough, Kacie uses soapy water and the Gumption Paste Multi Purpose Cleanser ($5.40) for stubborn stains.

“The only difference is that I use a non-scratch scouring pad on glass ovens,” Kacie said.

She added, “But a microfiber cloth is perfect for any other stovetop.”

Kacie then simply uses a dry cloth to finish wiping the surface.

“There’s no need to polish the kiln with another chemical afterwards,” she said.
