A finance expert traveling through Europe has shared the email template she sends hotels to get between 15 and 30 percent off bookings.
Queenie Tan, 26, from Sydney, has posted a video describing the script she uses when planning trips and said she is simply asking the hotel manager for a discount in return for booking through the venue rather than the Third Party Website.
The TikTok clip has since been viewed more than 21,000 times and garnered a slew of positive comments from travelers, confirming the hack works for them too.

Queenie Tan, 26, has posted a now-viral video on social media detailing the exact email template she sends to hotel managers when planning trips. In the clip, she details where she is traveling to, the dates she wants to stay and asks if the hotel would give her a discount
Because some third-party sites charge a commission that can vary from 15 percent to 30 percent, Queenie says many hotels will be happy to pass this discount on to their customers.
She begins by writing: “Dear Manager, I am planning to go to Santorini between X and Y and your hotel came and looks amazing!
“I was wondering if you would be willing to offer me a discount so I can book directly through your website instead of going through a third party?”
She concludes the email by thanking management for their attention, then adding, “I’d love to hear from you either way.”
“And don’t forget to check back with them a week later so they know you’re really interested,” she said.
Queenie’s email template she sends to hotels:
Dear Manager, I am planning to leave [insert location] between X and Y, and your hotel came out looking amazing!
I was wondering if you would be willing to offer me a discount so I can book directly through your website instead of going through a third party?
Thank you for your attention. I definitely look forward to hearing from you.
“Thanks for actually showing us what to say!” one person commented.
“When I did that in Santorini a few months ago, I actually got almost a 50 percent discount plus an upgrade. Really works when the place is touristy!’ added another person.
A third wrote: “Mostly I just went to the hotel. Or called them and really politely asked if their price matched the third-party discounts 100 percent of the time they do.’

Queenie shared the simple hack in an Instagram video, saying there’s no harm in letting the hotel staff know if you’re also celebrating a special occasion, as they’ve received a complimentary room upgrade with chocolates since their recent engagement.
