Home Run Inn Recalls Frozen Pizza Because It May Contain Metal Parts

Home Run Inn Frozen Foods has recalled over 13,000 pounds of frozen meat pizza product because it could be contaminated with “foreign materials,” according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The company discovered the potential problem with packaging at its premium pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza in Chicago after consumers reported metal was found in the pizza, according to the notice released by the FSIS.

The 33.5 ounce pizza packs were manufactured on June 6, 2022 and have an expiration date of December 2022. The affected products also have the operation number “EST. 18498-A” located within the USDA Mark .

After manufacturing, the recalled product was shipped to a distributor in Illinois before going to retailers, according to the federal agency.

However, the notice did not reveal which retailers the product was shipped to.

To date, there have been no reports of consumer injuries or side effects related to the recalled products.

However, the agency said it was “concerned some products may be in consumers’ freezers or found at distributors and retail locations.”
