the American actor Christopher Atkins played the role of the character Richard Lestrange in the classic “A Lagoa Azul”, released in 1980.
The star is also known for his work on the series Dallas as Peter Richards. Atkins was born on February 21, 1961 and lived to be 61 years old.
Interestingly, he had no prior interest in acting. However, he was persuaded by an agent to audition for A Lagoa Azul. The actor starred in the role with 2,000 other actors and was chosen to star in the classic alongside Brooke Shileds.
The film cost around $4.5 million and grossed over $58 million at the box office, making it a smash hit.
Atkins previously worked as a lifeguard and sailing instructor, which helped get him spotted for the film.
Christopher continues to appear in regular roles, most recently in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Amy She Feels Evil, and Kids vs Monsters.
On Instagram he shares photos and videos that show a little of his personal routine. The actor has changed a lot since bringing Richard to life in the film as he was around 19 at the time.
