Money doesn’t buy love, which is why many of the richest people in the world are single this Valentine’s Day.

Some have gone through the pain of divorce (once or more than once), while others have practiced serial monogamy for several years before moving on. There are also single billionaires with troubled exes, says Forbes.

To identify some of America’s most eligible billionaires, the magazine combed the ranks of the Forbes 400 — from innovative tech entrepreneurs to brash fashion moguls to passionate philanthropists — to find those who don’t have a ring on their sleeve but do have one open to finding love.

In the end, each of these qualifying billionaires has much more to offer than a three-comma bank account.

Elon Musk who is worth $187.2 billion

A man who named his first four Tesla models S, 3, X, Y seems to have one thing in mind, and with 10 kids, Elon Musk certainly has the numbers to prove it.

Despite three divorces, two of them with the same woman, the second richest man in the world is still looking for love.

Jack Dorsey, who is worth $4.9 billion

Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey, 46, has been linked to numerous women over the years but has been generally private about his love life.

When he’s not running tech companies, he’s also a licensed massage therapist and briefly considered a career in fashion design. A downside to dating Dorsey? Forget romantic brunches, he only eats dinner once a day.

Laurene Powell Jobs, which is worth $12.5 billion

Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of Steve Jobs, whom she married in 1991, has focused on her work since the death of her lover in 2011.

Jobs, who has three adult children with the late Apple co-founder, has dated several men since her husband’s death, including former Boston Mayor Adrian Fenty and Eleven Madison Park boss Daniel Humm, but remains single.

A sports enthusiast, she owns 20% of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics.

For those who appreciate the sea, Jobs also owns a $120 million superyacht designed by Philippe Starck.

Brian Chesky, who is worth $9.1 billion

With Brian Chesky, the 41-year-old co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, the vacation opportunities are endless.

Chesky, a former competitive bodybuilder who likes to post photos with his beloved dog, has been linked to entertainer Elissa Patel for the past few years but is now ready to share his bed.

Melinda French Gates who is worth $6.7 billion

Long before she married Bill Gates in 1994, Melinda French had a distinguished career at Microsoft as a multimedia product developer.

After the birth of her first child, she left the company to focus on her work as co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s largest private charity.

Despite divorcing in 2021, after 27 years of marriage, the couple remain committed to their philanthropic work together, even as they both move on romantically.

Ken Griffin who is worth $32.8 billion

Do you like a man with excellent taste in real estate? Ken Griffin made his fortune with Citadel Advisors, the fund he founded in 1990, but for the past 15 years his passion has been collecting trophy houses around the world.

Griffin, 54, twice divorced, owns several apartments in New York, including a $238 million penthouse in Manhattan.

He also owns some real estate in Miami, as well as homes in Aspen, Hawaii, London and the Hamptons. As if that wasn’t enough, Griffin has also amassed a $450 million beachfront resort in Palm Beach.

Mackenzie Scott who is worth $26.8 billion

The 52-year-old writer owes her fortune to her shares in Amazon, which her ex-husband Jeff Bezos founded.

After a multi-billion dollar divorce in 2019, Scott seemed to put aside the importance she placed on money. In 2021, she married Dan Jewett, a former science teacher at her children’s school in Seattle. Unfortunately, the couple divorced in January.

Today, much of Scott’s life is dedicated to philanthropy. In just over two years, she has donated more than $14 billion to approximately 1,600 charities.

Nicholas Berggruen, who is worth $3.1 billion

Nicholas Berggruen, 61, was once known as a “homeless billionaire” after selling his apartments in New York and Miami to live in luxury hotels. He had two children via surrogate in 2016 but has still not married. As the son of a wealthy art collector, he heads the Berggruen Institute.

Kim Kardashian who is worth $1.7 billion

Kim Kardashian prefers to live her life in front of the camera, in the tabloids and on social media. Plus, such exposure will make him money and add value to Skims, which Forbes estimates at $3.2 billion.

Despite a complicated romantic past, Kardashian, 42, remains a hopeful romantic. In an interview with James Cordon last September, the billionaire said she was looking for a scientist, a doctor or a lawyer.

Tyler Perry who is worth $1 billion

Tyler Perry said he was “poor as hell” before being included in the Forbes 400 ranks in 2020. The 53-year-old director, actor, producer and playwright divorced his wife Gelila Bekele in 2020 after 11 years of marriage and one child.

He’s been single since, but still a fan of romance, as he proved when he allowed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to live in his Los Angeles home when they first moved to the United States to New York.
