Her first child at 52 and $200,000 in IVF

A 52-year-old woman achieves her dream after a long battle with infertility. She gave birth to her first child and is already hoping for a second.

Luise Hoehn from Lowell, Massachusetts in the United States spent over $200,000 and underwent six rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment.

Ms Hoehn gave birth on Christmas Day after trying for six years to conceive. Little Stellan is now a few weeks old.

The new mom, who turns 53 in May, and her husband Dean Biele, 47, are hoping to have another child in the near future. The couple plans to try again this year.

The new parents spent $75,000 on donor eggs after suffering six failures using their own eggs at a cost of $115,000.

Luise and Dean met in 2007, but it wasn’t until nine years later in 2016 that they began fertility treatments.
