The knife attack on the Kiel-Hamburg regional train near Brokstedt station. The police arrested a Syrian
Two dead and at least five injured are the victims of a stabbing on a regional train running from Kiel to Hamburg near Brokstedt station in Germany. This was announced by the dpa agency, citing the interior minister of Schleswig-Holstein. The police made an arrest: It was a Syrian man between 25 and 40 years old, said a police spokesman. The attacker was slightly injured in the attack.
The police spokesman explained that around 3 p.m. shortly before the train arrived at Brokstedt station, a man attacked the passengers with a knife and the Syrian injured himself before hitting the passengers. The motive for this knife attack is not yet known.
The police closed the train station and several long-distance trains between Hamburg and Kiel as well as Neumünster were cancelled. Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister of the Interior, Sabine Stterlin-Waack, confirmed the dynamic of the attack and the temporary death toll.
