Gunman opens fire on the University of Michigan campus, killing three

A man killed three people and injured five on Monday (13th) on the campus of MSU (Michigan State University), one of the most important in the United States. He committed suicide, local authorities confirmed.

“All five victims of Sparrow Hospital are in critical condition. The suspect is a 43yearold male and is not affiliated with MSU,” university police said on Twitter.

The attacker opened fire at an MSU building overnight, said Chris Rozman, deputy commander of campus police. After the first shooting, he went to another building, where he hit other people.

Shortly after midnight (local time), police confirmed that the shooter killed himself after fleeing campus.

“It was really a nightmare what we experienced tonight. We are relieved that there is no longer an active threat on campus,” Rozman said.

Police did not say whether the victims were students or teachers.
