Havana, Jan 15.- (ACN) Roberto Morales Ojeda, Organizing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), welcomed this Saturday the holding of the XVI. Polisario Front Congress in Dakhla, Algeria, where a delegation from the PCC.
The official explained on Twitter that the Cuban side is headed by Yudí Rodríguez Hernández, a member of the secretariat of the PCC Central Committee, who represents the island’s support for the Western Sahara National Liberation Movement, formed in May 1973.
Cuba will continue to support the just struggle of the Saharawi people for their independence and self-determination, Morales Ojeda assured in the tweet.
“We welcome the holding of the XVI. Polisario Front Congress in Dakhla, Algeria, attended by a party delegation chaired by Yudi Mercedes. Cuba will continue to support the just struggle of the Saharawi people for their independence and self-determination.”
As reported by the Prensa Latina news agency, the congress, taking place in the town of Tindouf, 1,466 kilometers from the capital Algiers, will bring together party leaders, parliamentarians, diplomats, businessmen and solidarity groups from Algeria, Mauritania and Cuba. Among others Angola, South Africa, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Brazil, Argentina, Panama and Chile.
