Gossip Girl CANCELED by HBO Max: Streamer scraps reboot and cancels season 3 after critics branded it a ‘stunning failure’

HBO Max has launched its Gossip Girl revival after just two seasons on the streaming service.

The cancellation, which ends hopes for a third season of the drama, was announced on Thursday.

Showrunner Josh Safran shared the news in an Instagram post Thursday morning, where he said the series was looking for a new home.

The new version of Gossip Girl, which featured an all-new cast, largely failed to live up to the reputation of the original series starring Blake Lively and Leighton Meester and was panned by major television critics.
