A Google photographer didn’t need Google Maps to get around Jukdo Island in the Sea of ​​Japan, South Korea, adjacent to Ulleungdo, because he had a very special guide: a golden retriever dog.

Once known as Boussole Rock, the small island is very popular with tourists who want to get a glimpse of its natural beauty.

According to news outlet Mirror, a curious Reddit user turned to Google Street View for information and photos, and came across more than 1,000 images of the dog.

Apparently, the Google employee sympathized with the mascot! The boy thought it was great and took to the Reddit social platform to share his discovery. And he wrote in the caption: “This dog followed the guy from Google Earth.”

It didn’t take long for the boy to figure out who the dog was (actually a dog)! According to one user, the curious pup is named Maru and is the island’s “unofficial guide dog” who has lived in Jukdo for seven years.

The bitch is well known and has even become a point of reference because she is always in the same place, waiting to be fed by tourists.
