Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has become synonymous with the franchise that drafted him and guided him to an NBA championship, but he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of wearing another jersey before the end of his career.
While promoting his new ambassadorship at telemedicine company Antidote Health, Fox 32 Chicago asked Antetokounmpo about the potential of playing for the Bulls in the future. And while Antetokounmpo reiterated his commitment to the Bucks, he said he’s open to the idea of one day playing for his Interstate 94 rival.
“I think anyone who plays basketball who is asked that question would be a liar if they said no,” Antetokounmpo said said in an interview with Fox 32 Chicago. “It’s a team that has won multiple championships; it’s a team that has one of the greatest, if not the greatest, players to ever play this game. So it’s a no-brainer; everyone would love to play for Chicago.”

Antetokounmpo has four years remaining on the $228 million five-year extension, which he signed before becoming Finals MVP and leading the Bucks to the 2021 NBA Championship. He invested $1 million in Antidote Health, which was founded in 2021 and is headquartered in New York City, and conducted several interviews late last month to promote the company.
While Antetokounmpo appreciates the Bulls’ franchise history and their connections to Michael Jordan, he has been one of the biggest obstacles preventing them from expanding that legacy in recent years. He helped lead the Bucks to a win over the Bulls in the first round of the NBA playoffs last April — averaging 28.6 points, 13.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists during the five-game streak . Chicago’s Game 2 win of this series marks the only time since 2017 that the Bulls have beaten the Bucks, with Antetokounmpo on the active list.
“The bottom line is you never know. You never know what life will bring, maybe I’ll play for Chicago,” said Antetokounmpo. “But right now I’m committed to Milwaukee.”
